Introducing the UTS-X
Automatic test system with advanced
functions & OEB4 protection level
Functionality
The UTS-X testing the main physical parameters of tablets:
Weight
Thickness
Hardness (breaking force)
Diameter / Length
Width (optional)
With the Ph21 software the system becomes 21 CFR Part 11 compliant.
SmartFeed, the new singulation system, includes a progressively
controlled feeder chute with automatically adjustable
inclination. This enables a very quick separation of the tablets
and increases the throughput of the tablets to be measured.
To remove tablet dust in the device in a controlled manner, you can upgrade the UTS X with the new CleanFeed® module as an
option: Shielding during sample draw and dedusting before tablets are fed into the test system are performed automatically.
The device can also be equipped with an AutoLevel® automatic leveling unit for optimum alignment.

Handling of unusual tablet shapes
The Kraemer UTS-X is designed to handle a wide range of tablet geometries, including:
Round tablets
Oval tablets
Oblong (caplet) tablets
Square tablets
Rectangular tablets
Many custom or specialty tablet shapes
Online tablet testing at the tablet press
The UTS-X can be connected to a tablet press through an automatic sample collection system that:
Periodically removes tablets from the press.
Transfers them to the UTS-X.
Automatically measures:
Weight
Thickness
Diameter/length and width (depending on tablet shape)
Breaking force (hardness)
Compares the results against preset limits.
Sends the data to the press control system or manufacturing execution system (MES), where applicable.
The operator does not need to manually remove samples during normal production.
Feedback to the tablet press
When integrated with compatible press controls, the UTS-X can provide measurement data that the press uses to make automatic adjustments, such as:
Tablet weight (by adjusting fill depth)
Tablet thickness
Compression force (on presses that support closed-loop control)
This helps maintain tablets within specification throughout the production run.
